TOEFL and IELTS are the language requirements
International candidates must fulfill the following prerequisites in addition to the standard requirements for admission to any of the PLTS programs in this catalog:
Applicants from countries where English is not the predominant language must take one of the following English language exams:
- 88 score (min) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
- 6.5 score (min) of on the International English Language Test (IELTS)
- 58 score (min) of on the Pearson Test of English (PTE)
If necessary, students may be compelled to enroll in English lessons after arriving in the United States. We propose to the TOEFL speaking teacher for more language practice (here - https://livexp.com/online-tutors/toefl).
Applicants must demonstrate their ability to cover round-trip airfare, tuition, accommodation, and personal expenses for the first year of their academic program in the United States. Regulations regulating F-1 student status in the United States only allow PLTS to deliver the required I-20 form to the admitted student once this financial verification is on file with the seminary.
International candidates seeking campus housing and/or financial help are encouraged to apply early for autumn semester admission.
International candidates are advised to pursue theological study in their native countries or geographical regions before pursuing further studies in the United States. The first theology degree leading to ordination is typically obtained in one's native country.
